Melrose/GKN Aerospace
Melrose plc is the parent company of GKN Aerospace, they are a technology company specialising in aerospace. They are truly world class and have 32 manufacturing locations in 12 countries and serve over 90% of the world’s aircraft and engine manufacturers.
I was commissioned by Conran Design Group to build an image library for them to use in the Melrose annual report and other corporate communications including a new newly design website by Sampson May. I have photographed in many different manufacturing and industrial environments all over the world during my career. They are always really interesting places to visit, especially when the subject matter is aircraft. The sheer scale of the production you can’t help but impressed and amazed how these things actually leave the ground. The shoots took place in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, two location outside of Amsterdam, Sweden and in Bristol.
The sites were a mixture of traditional manufacturing and super modern robots and cutting edge technology. The client and agency were really happy with the results and it was great to see them used in print and online.
