Light and shadows in Hoxton

This brief was shot for the great team at Mammal, who I’ve worked with on a number of jobs recently.

The brief was to capture the essence and life around Hoxton and Shoreditch for The Hundred Squared. This client owns a number of residential and commercial buildings in the area and the photography was used to showcase what its like to potential tenants. The idea of the campaign was based around street photography and the agency wanted to cover the people, the fashions, street art, candid moments, shops and quirky details. I felt these images worked really well as a set with the hard summer light enhancing the bright vibrant colours of the locals.

Hoxton and Shoreditch are areas of London I love having worked around Old Street for many years as a designer before becoming a photographer. It was great to revisit my old stomping ground and see how it has changed.

These type of shoots are always challenging because you are walking the streets and hoping to find interesting things. But I’m always up for a challenge and with great light and patience good things can happen! The client was thrilled with the images and its good to finally share them.
